Son of Fukushima is a feature documentary that chronicles the story of a family of Japanese farmers who were displaced by the Fukushima nuclear disaster. The project is a blend of live-action footage and hand-painted animation by Christian Schlaeffer. Co-Directed, Co-Produced, Filmed and Edited by Beth Balaban. Made in collaboration with Co-Director Beth Murphy, GroundTruth Films, Marmita Films, and Principle Pictures.
